Cosmic Charlie Brown Christmas

It starts exactly where you expect it to, and then it keeps going.

Cosmic Charlie Brown Christmas features acclaimed pianist Jason Crosby alongside a stellar ensemble of improvising musicians reimagining the beloved music of Vince Guaraldi. Anchored in the timeless charm of A Charlie Brown Christmas, the performance opens in familiar territory: warm piano melodies, swinging jazz rhythms and the nostalgic spirit of the holidays doing its work.

From there the music begins to expand. Improvisational explorations inspired by the Grateful Dead weave through Guaraldi's iconic themes, which open out into expansive jams and playful musical interplay. It is both a loving tribute and an open-ended exploration, holding the innocence of Peanuts, the spirit of jazz and the improvisational energy of the Dead in the same room.

Nostalgic, soulful and just a little bit adventurous — a Charlie Brown Christmas by way of the cosmos.
