Fact Not Fiction: Mayflower
Talk Series

How did America begin? The honest answer is messier than the myth.
The Fact Not Fiction club reads Nathaniel Philbrick's Mayflower, a Pulitzer Prize finalist in History and a New York Times Book Review top ten book of the year, reissued with a new preface marking the 400th anniversary of the landing. Philbrick, who also wrote In the Hurricane's Eye and Valiant Ambition, goes after the truth behind the most sacred of national myths. The Times Book Review called it vivid and remarkably fresh, and said he had recast the Pilgrims for the ages.
