Food, Life and Other Strong Opinions with Alison Roman
Talk Series

How to turn a strong opinion into a career, and then into a life.
Cook and writer Alison Roman in conversation about turning a point of view into a living, both online and off. She talks about building a business out of internet culture and then into something you can actually walk into, about sustaining a creative life in an increasingly digital world, and about what it takes to turn strong opinions into meaningful work. Along the way she gets into the space between recipe writing and narrative writing, what it means to teach people not just how to cook but how to live, and why investing in originality, quality and a distinct voice tends to pay off. The venue promises an honest and lively conversation about making things, making a living, and making a life on your own terms.
Afterwards. A book signing and meet and greet follows the conversation. Books are on sale on the night or in advance through Byrds Books, and concessions are available throughout the evening.
