Glass Icicles

An icicle is a deceptively good first project, because everything you get wrong still looks intentional.

Students learn to turn a molten gather of clear and coloured borosilicate into icicles, working through loops, twists and working off the rod, with a lot of attention paid to heat control — the skill that underpins every other thing you will ever do at a torch. Everyone makes a variety of them.
