How to Read a Short Story with Dr. Mark Schenker: Alice Walker
Talk Series

Abigail Adams told her husband to remember the ladies. This series takes her literally.
Mark Schenker's America at 250 survey continues at Fairfield Public Library, picking up last spring's look at classic American works of the past hundred years and what they reveal about the country and its people. American history keeps returning to the Founding Fathers, while colonial women are mostly reduced to Betsy Ross and a flag.
Hence four twentieth century short stories, all by award winning women writers, all engaged with the lives of husbands, mothers, fathers, daughters and sons. This session takes Alice Walker.
Good to know. It's free, and registration is required.
