Introduction to Hand Raised Copper Vessels
Workshop & Classes

Raising is the oldest way of making a metal vessel and still the most direct: you start with a flat disc and hit it until it stands up.
Over two days students work with a range of stake anvils and hammers to raise copper into a vertical form, then cover tin lining and metal finishing. Be warned — these are long days of hammering, and everyone who has done it says the ache is part of the memory.
Good to know. $365 for the weekend, in the jewelry studio at 286 Whisconier Road. Prices and openings change, so check the registration page before you plan around it.
Please check with the organizer if the event date, time or offer has changed.** LTO
