Italian Cooking Class with Marcello

Flour and water in, cavatelli out, and you take some of it home.

Marcello runs this as a proper hands-on evening rather than a demonstration. The group cooks together, sits down and eats together, and everyone leaves with something to take with them. The menu is bruschette della zia, his aunt's version with tomato, capers, olives, basil and a great deal of olive oil; home made cavatelli started from nothing but flour and water; a simple sugo di pomodoro for half of it and a home made pesto for the rest; and a classic tiramisu to finish. He guides every step, so it suits people who love to cook and people who are mainly there for the food and the company equally well.

Bring a bottle. Wine is welcome, and the venue says Italian food and good company make a lovely pairing.

Good to know. $99 per adult, 6:00pm to 8:30pm. This is the fourth sitting the venue has added this season, and the two November dates are both sold out.
