Jake Kulak Band

Garage rock is a sound built for a room this size, and it does not improve with distance from the band.

The Jake Kulak Band bring it to Notch8 Bar & Grill on a Saturday night in late January. Kulak is a Connecticut guitarist who has been playing rooms around the state since he was a teenager, and the band is a regular fixture on this venue's calendar rather than a one-off booking.

Make a night of it. Wood-fired pizza, burgers, wings and smoked barbecue, 24 beers on draft, plus craft cocktails, wine, seltzers and ciders. The kitchen runs late on weekends.

Good to know. Music 9 to 11:30 p.m. at 1 Front Street in Bethel. No cover charge is published.
