Mystery Train

Mystery Train play Jerry Garcia's music, which is a narrower brief than playing the Grateful Dead and a harder one.

Garcia's own bands had a looser, more soulful feel than the Dead did, leaning on gospel, R&B and ballads as much as on the long jams. Getting that right asks for restraint rather than volume.

They turn up on the first weekend of most months on Notch8's published calendar, running well into next year, so this is a standing date rather than a one-off.

Make a night of it. Wood-fired pizza, burgers, wings and smoked barbecue, 24 beers on draft, plus craft cocktails, wine, seltzers and ciders.
