Nature's Book Club: The Song of the Cell
Talk Series

A book club that reads about the natural world in order to take better care of the actual one outside.
Nature's Book Club works through nonfiction on every part of the natural world, land, water, air, plants and animals, and the stated aim is to learn as much from what members bring to the discussion as from the book itself. October's choice is The Song of the Cell by Siddhartha Mukherjee.
The group is sponsored by the Pootatuck Watershed Association, whose work is the Pootatuck River, its drainage basin and the aquifer underneath it, and the moderator is PWA president Randy Walker. That gives the reading a local edge: the point is reading and learning together so the group can better care for its own land and raise awareness in Newtown.
