Newtown Chess Club

Three hours on a Saturday afternoon, a board, and somebody who actually knows what they are doing.

The Newtown Chess Club runs every Saturday at the C.H. Booth Library for casual play, with the occasional tournament thrown in, and it is open to everyone. Newtown resident and chess expert Glenn Budzinski hosts. Bring a chess set, and a clock if you have one. Players under ten need a parent with them.

Good to know. Free, and no registration. One session moves up to the Genealogy Room on the third floor rather than the usual Gathering Room, so check the library's listing before you climb the stairs.

Where to go. The Gathering Room at the library, 25 Main Street.
