Rigid Heddle Weaving

The rigid heddle loom is the one that fits on a table and still makes real cloth.

Everyone begins at a pre-warped loom, weaving a small scarf just to get a feel for how the thing operates. Once that comes off, students go back to the very beginning and take a second scarf all the way through themselves — warping, weaving and finishing it. It is a fast way to understand a loom rather than just use one.
