Turn and Decorate Holiday Ornaments

Ornaments are the ideal beginner turning project: small, forgiving, and you need more than one.

This class covers the basics of spindle-grain turning — mounting the wood, choosing tools, and the cuts themselves — while making holiday ornaments. Work from the provided patterns or push into finial forms if you want the challenge, then decorate what you have made. Cutting it fine at this point in December, which is part of the fun.
