Woodturning Open Studio

The hardest part of woodturning is not having a lathe.

Brookfield Craft Center opens the Turning Center for independent work: bring your own wood and your own project, and the center supplies the lathes and the tools. An experienced turner is in the room the whole time to answer questions and unstick you when a cut goes wrong, but the session is yours to use however you like.

Good to know. Open studio is limited to people who have taken a class at Brookfield within the last 18 months, or to members working at that level. $39 a session — and prices and openings change, so check the registration page before you plan around it.

Where to go. The Wood Turning Studio is at 273 Whisconier Road, one of three buildings on the Brookfield Craft Center campus.
