Kids In Crisis invites the Ridgefield community to Have A Heart for Kids In Crisis, a cocktail party and dinner that brings friends and neighbors together for a fun night with real impact for the children and families in Ridgefield and across Fairfield County.
Have A Heart for Kids In Crisis will take place on Thursday, May 7 from 6:30 to 10:30 PM at Silver Spring Country Club. Led by Event Co-Chairs Kimberly Bishop, Therese Marbury, and Christine Wohl, the evening includes drinks and hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit down dinner.
Guiding the evening will be emcees Amanda Gabbard and Michael McGuirk, a talented Ridgefield husband and wife duo. Amanda is a professional makeup artist and founder of Amanda Gabbard Beauty and Michael is a Broadway performer. Together, they bring a strong commitment to the town they call home.
New this year, Kids In Crisis will present the first annual Big Heart Award. This year's recipient is Allison Stockel, honored for her dedicated support of Kids In Crisis and her compassion for children, families, and our Ridgefield community.
The program will also introduce VIP Table One, a brand new moment for Have A Heart. The winning table will receive surprise, curated gifts from local Ridgefield businesses delivered throughout the night.
Funds raised at Have A Heart support Kids In Crisis programs that are there for kids when it matters most, including TeenTalk counseling in Ridgefield schools, Lighthouse peer support groups for LGBTQ+ youth, and 24/7 crisis support for children and families.
TeenTalk is often where Ridgefield students first connect with Kids In Crisis through free, confidential, school based counseling at Ridgefield High School, Scotts Ridge Middle School, and East Ridge Middle School. TeenTalk counselors help students navigate stress, friendships, family issues, mental health concerns, and connect students and families to additional support when needed.
Kids In Crisis is also there beyond school hours providing 24/7 help for children and families, including emergency shelter through SafeHaven and a free, confidential 24/7 Helpline at (202) 661-1911. Learn more at kidsincrisis.org
