Ladies Night runs every Tuesday at Whitlock's from six until ten, and the deal is as simple as it sounds: buy a drink, get a drink on the house. No list, no cover, no complications.

It has become one of the steadier midweek fixtures in Bethel, which is largely down to the room. This is a neighborhood pub rather than a night out that requires planning, so it works just as well for two people catching up as for a table of eight.

Where to go. Whitlock's sits on Greenwood Avenue in the middle of Bethel, a veteran owned Irish pub and neighborhood bar with made to order food, one of the better Irish whiskey lists around, and a standing welcome for dogs.
