Why This Gala Matters
The Ridgefield A Better Chance Gala is more than a fundraiser — it is a reflection of who we are as a community. It affirms that education changes lives. It reminds us that mentorship matters. It proves that when we move forward together, the impact lasts for generations.
Join us on March 27 and be part of an evening that celebrates leadership, equity, and the power of opportunity — Forward Together.
Forward Together reminds us that Scholars bring resilience and determination, while the community brings guidance and support. Together, pathways are created. Together, futures move forward.
What Is Ridgefield A Better Chance?
Ridgefield A Better Chance (RABC) is a Ridgefield, Connecticut nonprofit dedicated to empowering academically talented, highly motivated young women of color.
Through access to a rigorous public high school education at Ridgefield High School — combined with:
Supportive mentorship
Cultural enrichment
A nurturing home environment
Scholars are given more than opportunity. They are given a foundation for lifelong leadership.

Since 1987:
68 Scholars have graduated and gone on to top colleges
100% college acceptance rate among Scholars
Programs fund travel, arts, academics, and leadership development
Scholars build a lifelong sisterhood that extends far beyond graduation
Ridgefield A Better Chance continues to shape leaders whose impact reaches well beyond our town.
Life at the RABC House
At the heart of the program is the RABC House, where eight scholars in grades 9–12 live together under the guidance of a Resident Director and Resident Academic Director.
Supported by a dedicated Board of Directors, host families, and volunteers, the house becomes more than a residence — it becomes a home.
It is where resilience is strengthened. It is where ambition is nurtured. It is where belonging transforms potential into confidence.
