Imminent - Poetry by Ira Joe Fisher
Imminent
The sun in elder September
is an insincere warm
because the shade-side
is chill not sooth.
Frost is just a leaf-tinge away.
As the tree trembles in a wind
scouting lawn and field and street
for banking on-the-way snow.
